The UNFoundation is run by a part-time Executive Director and a group of five regular folks with full-time jobs just like you.
We have two board advisor positions open, and we are asking you to apply. A board advisor sounds fancy, we get it. But let’s level — we’re not your typical board of directors. No stuffy meetings or paperwork required. Just super chill folks who volunteer a few hours each month to make Chattanooga the best damn city in the South.
What’s the difference between trustees and board advisors? Trustees are the meat and potatoes of The UNFoundation, each giving $100 monthly to fund our grants. If we didn’t have trustees, we wouldn’t have monthly grants. Supporting them means working to meet their needs for social connection, cool ideas, and community impact.
What we’re looking for in our next board advisor:
Someone pumped to spread the word about our monthly microgrants ($3k!). That means getting the deets out to everyone– social media, presentations, community events, news rags, carrier pigeons. Whatever it takes to let people know we exist.
Someone eager to handle essential board tasks like: wrangling past grant winners to report at monthly meetings, public speaking at events, writing up grants for our website, reaching out to the community for more applicants, and recruiting new trustees. Not glamorous, but so necessary to keep this machine running.
What you bring: 2-year commitment, 2-4 hours a month, a community mindset.
